Senior Technical Product Manager

Sonion Nederland B.V (Sonion NL) is a company in the Sonion Group which is a global supplier within the Hearing Aid Industry. The Sonion Group develops, manufactures, and sells product solutions to customers who manufacture hearing instruments and other acoustic solutions. Sonion NL is the main R&D center within transducers and modules, but Sonion NL also has sales supportive activities such as (Technical) Account Management, CQS, and administrative support functions. Sonion has facilities in Denmark, the Netherlands, Vietnam, the Philippines, Poland, USA and China, wherefrom our (more than 6000) colleagues work together across all locations.

As part of the Product Management team, the Senior Technical Product Manager will be responsible for making technical and commercial assessments of new product opportunities within Sonion, in close cooperation with Sonion R&D, Sales and external partners. The Senior Technical Product Manager, will be collecting and analysing market intelligence and translate this into concrete product ideas that are profitable for Sonion

Your tasks and responsibilities

Having an in depth (technical) discussion with engineering teams doesn’t scare you off. You enjoy translating your thorough understanding of the end-user needs into clear product requirements. Your daily tasks and responsibilities will be, among others:

  • Collecting and analyzing market intelligence within the hearing health and Advanced Audio+ markets, especially focused on the technical trends in the market and end-user values;
  • Continuous technology scouting to identify new opportunities for Sonion;
  • Translating market trends into concrete product proposals for the Sonion Roadmap (0-5 year), including technical and commercial assessment;
  • Defining key features, value drivers and detailed target requirements for new generic products and be a key stakeholder in new product developments;
  • Working together with external partners to define Reference Designs with our products;
  • Representing Sonion at customers and discussing new product ideas, especially at their Research & Technology departments.

Your profile

  • Preferably a Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Audiology or similar;
  • Excellent understanding of commercial and technical success criteria for products and services;
  • Experience from working with technical and/or product management aspects of the hearing instrument market or similar markets;
  • Or experience from working with consumer electronics, preferably within audio;
  • Prior knowledge of sensors, microphones or speakers is a plus;
  • Experience from working in projects together with external customers;
  • Good presentation and communication skills in both verbal and written English;
  • As our customers are located worldwide you should be available for (and enjoy) limited traveling (max of 10%);
