Key for bringing end-user and audiologist understanding into the value creation of Sonion



To remain a preferred supplier to current OEM customers as well as to grow business in new market segments, Sonion has to develop market, audiologist and consumer understanding as well as the capabilities to identify, develop and de-risk innovations on end-user aspects. The Manager Consumer Centricity will play a key role in this and helps to further strengthen our end-user understanding and to generate more meaningful ideas that bring true value to the end-user.



Sonion Nederland B.V (Sonion NL) is a company in the Sonion Group which is a global supplier within the Hearing Aid Industry. Sonion Group develops, manufactures and sells product solutions to the customers who manufacture hearing instrument and other acoustic solutions. Sonion NL is the main R&D center within transducers and modules, but Sonion NL also has sales supportive activities as Application Engineering, CQS, and administrative support functions. Sonion NL collaborates with sister companies in Denmark, Poland, Vietnam, the Philippines, US and China.


Your tasks and responsibilities include:

Consumer, end-user and audiologist expertise

  • Scan the market for and capture new developments, technologies and emerging trends of end-users and audiologist, and assess the impact on Sonion;
  • Lead the development and own Consumer Centricity tools such as User Personas, VOC-tree, Stakeholder maps and Experience Flows etc.;
  • Setup a end-user panels, network of Audiologist and other expert of the industry to generate new insights about the market and value chain;
  • Inspire a consumer centric mindset and support the use of consumer centricity tools in projects.

End-user and Audiologist insights in Product Ideation and Value Propositions

  • Support Product Management in bringing end-user and audiologist knowledge into the Ideation Process and to help select the ideas to prioritize;
  • Support Product Management in bringing end-user and audiologist insights into the Value Proposition development;
  • Support marketing in enhancing value proposition articulation and improving sales presentations with insights about end-users and audiologist.

Consumer Testing

  • Define the Concept validation testing and User/Product testing, incl. defining testing process and necessary documentation;
  • Designing qualitative and quantitative studies to test or validate concepts and value propositions or products, and analyze results with R&D;
  • Support R&D in understanding and correlating “user test” with “lab test” results;
  • Work with external parties to facilitate testing where relevant;
  • Setup and standardize consumer test data collection, and maintain ISO procedures in Sonion Business System.

Building and maintaining an external partner network

  • Identify and manage partners that can be used to outsource consumer testing;
  • Work with partners to assess regulations and privacy laws’ impact on consumer testing.


Your profile

Experience in working with Product Management or R&D is a plus. Any experience in direct communication with external parties: both customers and suppliers is useful too. We expect you to clearly summarize and conclude on your work.

Furthermore you will have:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration/Innovation/Marketing & Communication or Economics);
  • A collaborative, independent and supportive mindset;
  • People engagement and stakeholder management skills;
  • Solid analytical skills (incl. some mathematical and statistical);
  • Strong English skills (written and oral) as the language is English;
  • Strong Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience with hearing aids and/or other audio markets is a plus;
  • Interest in Consumer behavior and Design Thinking.

Consumer Centricity is part of the Product Management organization and reports to Niels Gregersen, VP Product Management & Strategy.
