Sonion offers a wide selection of receivers, microphones and telecoils for hearing instruments, in-ear earphones and headsets. They are all qualified to Sonion’s highest quality standards and come guaranteed with a quality certificate.
Receivers
Sonion has a vast selection of receivers for hearing instruments ranging from different sizes to different impedance levels and SPL outputs. We can also accommodate a vast range of spouts and port locations, including the ability to attach a plastic spout for your custom applications.
For headsets, Sonion offers the choice of wire or flex print already assembled to the product. For special applications, gasket or mesh can be included. Note the contacts vary from product to product.
All hearing instrument receivers are based on a balanced armature design principle that offers the highest sound quality with low distortion. The receivers have features to block magnetic radiation and extra protection from shock. In some models the frequency response is shaped based on the need of the application, peaks can be dampened and low or high frequencies may be filtered out.
Microphones
All microphones are based on an electret condenser principle which provides advanced performance in a miniature package. The microphone Integrated Circuit design uses the latest technology to provide the lowest noise and highest EMI protection. Microphones are categorized into single omni directional microphones and single directional microphones.
The omni directional microphones accept sound from all around the perimeter while directional microphones reject sound from certain directions. The directional microphones are best used for an application where unwanted sound needs to be filtered out. Sonion offers the microphones with the best performing Directionality Index. Sonion also provides modules where both omni and directional microphones are grouped to provide a switchable package to support different environments.
Depending on the design, we can accommodate a vast range of spouts and port locations. Additionally, Sonion gives you the ability to attach plastic spouts to our transducers for custom hearing instrument applications.
Telecoils
The active telecoil (product name begins with TA) has an extra amplifier to boost output, shape frequency response and provide extra EMI protection. The Telecoil TA 20 models offer this extra amplifier.
The passive telecoil (product name begins with T) does not have the extra amplifier. These telecoils are designed by manipulating the core and the wire windings to offer different sensitivity and size options. To help protect the coil, Sonion offers a thin protective coating that provides maximum benefit to the windings of the coil. This protective coating adds protection during processing of parts and protection from environmental elements. |
